Bustier Applique

I love the hint of lingerie or bustier details, so when I realized that shoulder pads were reminiscent of bustier cups I developed one of my favorite reworking ideas: the bustier appliqué. I usually try to match the color of the cups to the color of the garment for a monochromatic look. I can also add even more of a corset/bustier look by topstitching along the cut and down the waist in a contrast color. It looks fabulous on a variety of tops and jackets.
